Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Since the start of 2023, twenty seven Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, according to Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCIP).
So far, 27 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli forces in 2023, according to documentation collected by DCIP. Israeli forces have shot and killed 20 Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank, a 10-year-old Palestinian child in Gaza succumbed to head wounds he sustained during the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip in August 2022, and six children were killed during Israel’s 5-day May aggression on Gaza.
All of the killed children are under the age of 17, the youngest aged 2 years and a half.
The 27 children killed in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip are:
Omar Mohammad Omar Awadin (14) was fatally shot in the back with live ammunition while he was riding his bike outside his parents’ shop in Jenin on March 16Amir Mamoun Mohammad Odeh (14) was shot and killed near the northern entrance to Qalqilya in the northern occupied West Bank. Amir sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, below his left armpit on March 10Waleed Saad Daoud Nassar (15) died on March 9 at Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem after an Israeli soldier shot him in the abdomen with an expanding bullet on March 7 in Jenin while withdrawing from Jenin refugee camp after an Israeli military raidMohammad Nidal Ibrahim Salim (17) was fatally shot in the back with live ammunition by Israeli forces on March 2 in Azzun, a Palestinian town northeast of Qalqilya in the occupied West BankMohammad Farid Mohammad Sha’ban (16) was shot and killed by Israeli forces during an Israeli military into Nablus on February 22.Montaser Mohammad Deeb Shawwa (16) died on February 20 after an Israeli sniper shot him in the mouth on February 8 during a raid on Balata refugee camp, near Nablus.Mahmoud Majed Mohammad Ayed (17) was shot in the head and killed in Far’a refugee camp, NE of Nablus in the occupied West Bank on February 14Qusai Radwan Yousef Waked (14) was shot and killed on February 13 near Jenin refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank.Hamza Amjad Yousef Ashqar (16) was shot and killed in Al-Masaken Al-Sha’bya, near New Askar refugee camp east of Nablus. An Israeli soldier shot Hamza in the mouth and the left side of his waist.Nayef Khaled Nayef Al-Odat (10) died on January 26 from head wounds he sustained from an Israeli airstrike in Gaza in August.Wadea Abdulaziz Meri Abu Ramouz (17) was shot on January 25 and he sustained a gunshot wound below his heart. He was under arrest & guarded in the hospital, even in the ICU. He died at Shaare Zedek Medical Center at 11pm on January 27Abdullah Marwan Juma’a Mousa (17) was shot in the chest, Israeli forces prevented an ambulance from reaching him for about ten minutes during an Israeli military raid into Jenin on January 26Wasim Amjad Aref Abu Jaes (16) died after an Israeli military vehicle ran over him after Israeli forces fired live ammo at a group of Palestinian youth on January 26 in JeninAmer Khaled Lufti Al-Khamour (14) was shot in the head with live ammunition in Dheisheh refugee camp outside of Bethlehem on January 16Amer Ghazi Mahmoud Zeitoun (16) was shot and killed during a raid on Balata refugee camp, outside Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank on January 5Adam Issam Shaker Ayyad (15) was shot and killed in Dheisheh refugee camp just outside of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank. Adam sustained at least one gunshot wound to the back of his shoulder on January 3Fuad Mahmoud Ahmad Abed (17) was shot in Kafr Dan, near Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank. He sustained multiple gunshots to his abdomen, pelvis, and legs on January 2Mohammad Fayez Mohammad Bilhan (17) was killed after he sustained four gunshot wounds from Israeli forces in his head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Israeli forces fired indiscriminately while withdrawing from Aqbat Jabr camp, striking Mohammad on April 10.Israeli forces killed 15-year-old Mustafa Amer Ali Sabbah in the village of Tuqu, near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank on April 28. Mustafa was shot with live ammunition in the heart.Israeli forces shot 17-year-old Jebril Mohammad Said Kamal (Al-Lada’a) in the head with live ammunition in Aqbat Jabr refugee camp near Jericho in the occupied West Bank on May 1.Mayar Ezz el-Din, 11, and Ali Ezz el-Din, 8, are the children of Tariq Ezz el-Din, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) military commander. The family were sleeping when an Israeli jet targeted the entire floor of their residential building in Gaza, killing the two and their father on May 9 during Israel’s 5-day bombardment.Hajar el-Bahtini, 5, his mother and father were all killed in an airstrike that targeted the family’s house in Gaza City on May 9. Hajar is the daughter of Al-Quds Brigades commander Khalil al-Bahtini.Iman Adas, 17, was killed along with her older sister in the airstrike which targeted their neighbors, the al-Bahtini family on May 9.Layan Maddoukh, 10, was killed in an Israeli raid that hit residential buildings in al-Sahaba Street in Gaza City on May 10. 16-year-old Yazan Jawdat Elayyan was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit residential buildings in Gaza City on May 10. 2-year-old Muhamed al-Tamimi and his father, Haithem, were both shot by Israeli forces with live ammunition on June 1 while they were in their parked car outside their home in Nabi Saleh village. The child was declared dead on June 6 as he died of his serious wounds in the head.
53 Palestinian children were killed in 2022, according to documentation collected by DCIP, including 36 Palestinian children shot and killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the occupied West Bank. DCIP documented the killing of 17 Palestinian children between August 5–7 after Israeli forces launched a military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
