20 People Die from Hunger in Gaza in 48 Hours, Worst Toll Yet
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israel’s starvation war im Gaza has reached a deadly new peak. Within just 48 hours, 20 people died due to hunger and severe malnutrition, according to the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir Al-Bursh. This is the highest death toll from starvation recorded in such a short time since the beginning of the genocide.
The total number of starvation-related deaths has now climbed to 87. Among them are 77 children and 10 adults. Health officials warn that the actual numbers could be even higher, as aid and medical access remain blocked.
In the last 24 hours alone, 95 people were killed near so-called “aid centers”, run by thr US-Israeli GHF, that have become deadly traps for the starving. Over 600 others were injured during the same period. The total number of victims at these sites now stands at 1,017 people killed and 6,453 injured.
The Director General also confirmed 47 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome caused by prolonged malnutrition and contaminated water. Eighteen of these cases are children under 15. There is no access to the life-saving treatment needed—IV immunoglobulin (IVIG)—due to the blockade on medical supplies.
The situation for Gaza’s medical teams is also dire. Many doctors and nurses are surviving on just one meal a day. Since Sunday, even that single meal has become impossible.
According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Thursday, the army said the death toll of around 71,000 killed in Gaza is largely correct, adding that it did not include those missing and buried under the rubble.
