127 assaults against Al Aqsa and Ibrahimi mosques in February
Ramallah (QNN)- Over 30 assaults reported against Al Aqsa mosque by Israeli occupation forces, settlers, students of extremist religious schools, and intelligence members during the recent February only, said the minister of Waqf Yousef Id’ais.
Id’ais stressed in a report that the Israeli authorities continued to besiege Al Aqsa mosque, aiming to divide it and protect settlers, who kept breaking into it.
Meanwhile, 44 assaults have been reported against the Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron in the same month, which would raise the number of assaults against both mosques in addition to other mosques and graveyards.
The report mentioned that the last February witnessed a vicious attack against worshipers and clerics. Arrests and ban of access to Al Aqsa mosque were practiced against 2 Waqf officials and over 120 worshiper.
The report stressed that the Mercy gate is an intrinsic part of Al Aqsa mosque, and that it is non negotiable, dividable, or shareable. It also denounced the Israeli policies, which aim to take it away in favor of settlement projects.
The report revealed that the occupation state launched three gliders over the mosque to provoke worshipers.
Meanwhile, other mosques in the occupied Jerusalem and West Bank have been subject to Israeli assaults. Racist slogans were sprayed on the walls of a mosque in occupied Jerusalem, while undercover occupation forces broke into Jamal Abd Al Naser mosque in the West Bank.
