US announces new sanctions targeting Hamas and others

Washington (QNN)- The United States said it was imposing sanctions on a wide range of movements and bodies describing them as “terrorists and supporters of terrorists”, including the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, on Tuesday, on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

The sanctions targeted 15 leaders, individuals and entities affiliated with groups including Hamas, Al Qaeda, ISIS and Iran’s IRGC, the US Treasury Department said in a statement.

The American decision comes few days after a European court rule, which removed Hamas from terrorism list.
