Leader of Islamic Jihad movement: "Israel" should comply to latest understandings
Beirut (QNN)- Leader of the Islamic Jihad movement Ziad Nkhaleh said on Tuesday that "Israel" should comply to the latest understanding, which were agreed in Cairo.
Nkhaleh said in an interview on Mayadeen channel that many sides tried to disarm the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. He expects that Israel will wage another war in the summer.
Nkhaleh added that the ceasefire war reached only "few hours before we fire missiles at Tel Aviv in the latest Israeli escalation."
He also stressed that the Great Return March protests will continue to take place and that "Israel's compliance to the understandings made us agree to the ceasefire and we are committed to defend our people".
A member in the Palestinian resistance on Friday sniped 2 Israeli soldiers as a response to Israeli killing of four Palestinian protesters on the border with Gaza, leading to a 2-day-escalation in which "Israel" targeted civilians killing 27 and injuring dozens.
Two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old boy, were shot and killed by Israeli settlers on Tuesday in the village of Al-Mughayyir in the occupied West Bank. A total of three Palestinians have been killed so far today by Israeli settlers across the occupied territories, including two children, amid a spike in settler violence against Palestinians.
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot has urged the EU to impose sanctions on Israel ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, joining seven EU countries, including France and Sweden, in the call. He also slammed the Israeli assault on Lebanon as “totally unacceptable.”
France and Sweden have co-signed a paper urging the European Union to ban imports from illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, and to consider tariffs and tighter import restrictions on such goods.
