In last April only.. 360 arrests including 61 children
Ramallah (QNN)- On Wednesday, Palestine Prisoners Center for studies revealed that 360 Palestinians have been arrested in the last April including 61 children and 4 ladies, while one wounded prisoner passed away in an Israeli hospital.
Israeli occupation soldiers arrested on Erez crossing Karam Tantawi (51 years old), who was accompanying his wife Safa’ ‘Abed al-Majeed Tantawi (47), a cancer patient, while returning to the Gaza Strip after his wife received treatment at al-Maqassed Hospital in Jerusalem.
In last April, the Israeli authorities rearrested member of the Palestinian legislative council Hasan Yousef (63) after raising and searching his house. The arrest came less than five months after being releases.
Yousef has already served around 20 years in the Israeli jails although he suffers from several chronic diseases.
Spokesperson of the center Ryadh Al Ashqar saidd that women and children were also targeted. The center documented 61 arrests against children, the youngest of whom is 13-year-old Khader Oudeh from Silwan in the occupied Jerusalem.
The center also documented 4 arrests against women, 2 of which were against girls who were participating in an environmental event in the Northern Jordan Valley. Another lady was arrested on Az Zaem checkpoint for allegedly seizing a knife, while a lady from Acre was arrested while she was leaving the Al Aqsa mosque.
Al Ashqar said that the number of Palestinian prisoners, who passed away in jail increased to 219 after Omar Awni (20 years old) succumbed to wound he sustained one week earlier.
