Gaza (QNN)- 60 Palestinian protesters were reportedly injured on Friday due to the Israeli repression of the weekly Great Return March protests on the eastern border between Gaza and the Palestinian lands occupied in 1948.
Medical sources said that Israeli occupation forces targeted the protesters with dozens of tear gas canisters directly after they started to gather, which caused several protesters to be suffocated, while a protester was wounded in his head by a tear gas canister.
The Supreme National Authority of the Great Return March has called Palestinians to participate in the 57th week of the protests, demanding the right of return and the end of the siege imposed on the Gaza strip.
In the beginning of the Great Return March’s second year, Israel killed 272 protesters and injured over 16,000 others. A UN report released last February, the UN confirmed that footage from the scene, eye witness accounts and medical records have shown that Israeli soldiers opened fire at medical workers and journalists covering the Great Return March.
Evidence also found on targeting women, disabled people, and children, who were playing football by Israeli soldiers.
